"The Old Viking" is my father. He insisted that I letter his name into this portrait. He was convinced that someday my work would be in a museum (he was my dad after all) and he didn't want someone to look at his portrait and say "Who is that old guy?"
After I put his name in, I decided I liked it well enough to offer this to any client who wants their name painted into their portrait.
I was once, after all, a sign painter before I turned to the less lucrative but much more fun "fine arts."
